Here at 4 Horsemen, we like to hold contests for authors to submit short stories to one of our collections. This gives new authors the opportunity to dip their toes into the waters of writing and being published. Each of our contest winners will be granted the following awards:
- 2 complimentary author copies for US ONLY.
- Access to buy additional author copies at a discounted rate.
- We retain first publication rights for the first 90 days of publication. After that feel free to sell and republish your entry as you wish. All entries will solely belong to you. This only covers publishing for this particular volume.
- This will be sold wide – Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, and beyond. Including library access!
- Retail price to be determined at a later time.
- By sending in a submission, you are agreeing to the rights above and will receive confirmation to further clarify. If no response in 7-14 business days is received, please feel free to contact or resubmit.
- Winners are determined 60 days after contest end date.
- You must be 18+ or have permission from a parent or guardian.
Important Notes:
- If you do not follow the submission and formatting guidelines you will be rejected without feedback and should resubmit. We will not review submissions that fail to follow instructions nor answer the questions we need.
- When submitting, you must provide the completed, edited version of your short story.
- This writing should be fully edited. We shouldn’t see simple grammatical errors and misspelled words that are being flagged with Word upon opening. Please submit polished and well edited writing.
- Do not submit more or less of the word count range or this will result in a automatic rejection.
- Only US authors are eligible for complimentary copies.
- You must be 18+ or have permission from a parent or guardian.
